Hi I am looking to move permanantly to Bulgaria in the not to distant future as have a house in Milevo, Plovdiv. I have most of the information I need but am interested to know if anyone has had any dental treatment asn how it compares to the UK price-wise as it so expensive in the UK Look forward to any replies Laura I found a new site today looks good
Yes dental treatment is extraordinary inexpensive here! I would go as far as saying the dentists here are cheap! The other day, a lady with a denture wished it to be fixed, the dentist quoted her 30 leva (around 10 quid) and as the Bulgarians are on so low salaries, she couldnt afford it. There are a lot of dentists with very new dental surgeries, almost space age new technology! When I was in the UK, it cost me 190 something quid to have the remains of a root removed, only an injection required! I could have a lot of cosmetic dentistry carried out for that here! Good luck with your teeth and with your choice of Bulgarian Dentist!

I desperatly need the dentist too! My teeth are failing after suffering the dentists 'care' in the UK!
One dentist in the UK had to treat a tooth and knocked out almost all of the tooth besides it, now i have just a stump left and he refused to put right his own mistake! I was however offered to pay around 400 quid to correct it!
Dentists in the UK suck eh! lol
Enjoy the dentists in Plovdiv and leme know how you get on eh!
But my partner had a similar experience he had some treatment £1500 worth and one of his fillings wasnt right and he went back and they said there was nothing wrong but even now it causes him problems.
well guys I had my first visit to the Bulgarian Dentist today!
he was a tad amazed at the bad state of my teeth so I explained 'English dentistry at its very best!'
to which he set to work with his injections and drill !
i informed him i was petrified of injections, he laughed quite sweetly at me and asked (via an interpreter of course) just how small i wished the needle to be, the teeniest tinest one he had? oh yes please!
i will admit (being a huge baby) that i did not feel the injection at all and had to make sure with the interpreter that he had in fact injected me in the first place!
i then had mounting fears of the drill begininning and not being numb!
well, this Bulgarian dentist in Kardjali town has a very lovely waiting room, a very sweet dental nurse, was very perdantic (or however you spell that word) about just how good was good enough to make my new rather large white filling in my tooth, he spent ages perfecting it!
i then paid the bill... 50 leva
(split that into approx 3 to get the English pounds equivalent, or into two for the Euro price!)
so, very cheap Bulgarian Dentists indeedy!
i do have to go back for quite a lot more work to correct the UK Dentists rubbish 'work' on my teeth, but at least i don't feel i'm being robbed!
i had a second tooth sorted yesterday by the dentist in Kardjali, the tooth had an original silver filling from, well i cant remember how many decades it had been in my tooth! He took out the root and filled it... wow what a difference!
At last my smile is getting more smileable!
thanx for that link!

i got the same story as you all,uk and other denistry...........aaagh
i recently went to see a dentist in momchilgrad called Dr Tobakova and she was really good.i hadnt been to a detist for a while and had had 2 fillings fall out a while ago, there was about 10% left of one and 30% of the other.
i had 2 root canals,x rays,4 appointments,2 temp fillings and finally 2 nice white fillings(not those nasty metal uk ones),and it cost 120 leva!!!or 40 quid ish.
she however didnt give me any injections and was to say the least, rather painfull, but ive since learned that bg men are macho and thrifty,so they usually opt not to,if only i'd asked.
but like some others had probs for ages, and was amazed at the technology, friendliness and the quality of work.not to forget the pain either, but, hehe,it was worth it.
if anyone needs a dentist momchilgrad way i can take you there, sorry i never got the number.
PHOTOS of DENTIST VISIT KIRKOVO BULGARIA So many people are asking about dentists in Bulgaria, that I thought I may share some photos of my visit to a Bulgarian Dentist! This dentist is in Kirkovo which is in southern Bulgaria near the border with Greece. The dentist has a very space age looking dental clinic and because he dosn't speak any English, he enlisted the help of his son to translate for me! (free i may add!) I was introduced to this dentist when i broke the edge of one of my teeth. Before this visit to the dentist, we visited him with a translator who explained that my teeth were in very poor shape and quite yellowed with age, tobacco and caffeine! The dentist gave me a reassuring smile that he would complete my course and i would also have white teeth again! We shall see eh! I will be keeping this thread open as my visits to the Bulgarian dentist progress. From the first photo you can see that it clearly is a dentist although you may not be able to read the writing, this dentist is very proud of his dental clinic and was in that pose as i walked in, he had not yet seen my camera armed and ready to shoot! The equipment he had looked quite new and very modern and he took an instant photo shot of two of my teeth and displayed them on a pc monitor so i could see the progress of his work! Never had that before! As for his prices, i don't know them yet! i will find out on my next visit to the dentists chair in Bulgaria! Watch this space...

Quotes from my Bulgarian Dentist I have just been quoted 100 leva per crown that equates to approx £33 or approx 50 euros! He quotes me 150 for tooth bleaching, I have yet to ascertain if thats per tooth or for the entire set (or whats left of them) of teeth to be bleached! I do believe its for the entire bleaching! So with prices of flights to Bulgaria currently standing at around £55-£100 return and cheap local hotel prices (if booked directly in Bulgaria of course!) you could save yourself a HUGE fortune on dental treatment for your teeth!
