The Autobahns in Germany need no description, they are good!
We blinked our eyes and missed Belgium!
Austria was beautifully scenic!

a journey taken in a Toyota Hilux Surf 2.4 TD with a 26ft caravan in tow!
We must have blinked our eyes because we were out of Belgium and into Germany in no time! The Autobahns in Germany are exceedingly good and very easy to navigate and drive across.
Soon Germany will have the no smoking law, we wondered if anyone had told these heavy smokers!
Once through Germany and on into Austria the scenery turned beautiful and although the roads are in superb condition, it was a struggle for our Toyota Hilux Surf 2.4td towing a huge 26ft caravan up and down the mountains of Austria!
We had to stop often to rest the car, the caravan and of course ourselves! There are plenty of scenic stopping spots for drivers of cars and juggernauts!

I thought St Pancras was in the centre of London, how wrong I was! The Raststation at St. Pankraz was 5km away and well signposted!
Raststations offer good food and drink with plenty of parking for cars and larger vehicles to stop in peace for the night. We parked our caravan amongst the huge juggernauts and were made more than welcome by the drivers!
The Raststations also offer inexpensive shower rooms to freshen up and most had a running tap for fresh water. Although be aware that most of the toilets along the way are the hole in the floor type!
So Ladies when you wish to use the loo, you havn't just stepped into the Gents!
